2008, powerful earthquake hit Sichuan all of a sudden that confounded our production plans completely. Whether we could deliver quality guaranteed goods to the customers on schedule meant much for the Company’s reputation gradually established for the past 9 years, thus became the uppermost goal of our Changhong NewEnergy after the quake.

2:30 p.m., May 12th, 2 minutes right after the earthquake, staff of Changhong NewEnergy started assembling outside the building; and thanks to the Company’s quick response to emergency, no casualty was found after counting and verifying.

Due to the communication interrupt caused by the earthquake, customers lost touch with Changhong NewEnergy suddenly that Monday. To arrange export businesses according to the preset plans, the customers had to make a decision at once: wait for the contact from Changhong for some more time, or seek for alternative from other regions. This is a test not only to the customers, but also to Changhong NewEnergy and its employees who’re well aware of the fact.

To help ourselves, Command centre for emergency response was soon established in Changhong NewEnergy. Examining group for energy source supply and for the plant &. facilities was found; inspection team for disaster degree confirmation was formed; volunteers were sent; plant renovation was arranged;… Under the unified leadership of the command centre, the Company’s goal of resuming production was put forward orderly.

May 15th, 1:00 p.m., soon after the service (power) restoration, packing machines in the Company’s battery assembling hall started up after a short stop production for about 3 days. Being vigilant to the threat of the aftershocks, the Packing Team became the first, who’s leading in the resumption of Changhong NewEnergy. M company, a representative of our customers from Japan, expressed their admiration after receiving the advice of resuming production from our sales-person: That’s the Changhong Speed, that’s the NewEnergy Speed!

May 16th, the assembling lines resumed production regularly with a capacity of 90% compared with that of before.

May 22nd, the first shipment of batteries was sent to the customer from Mianyang after the quake, which fully displayed the perseverance of the Company as well as the people.

May 26th, the resumption of production was realized in battery component sections, which suffered the most in the earthquake, meant the whole recovery of the Company’s Manufacturing Dept.

June 5th, renovations of the factory ceiling and enclosing walls as well as the equipment reparation were finally completed.

Practical actions of the Party Members, the Leaderships, as well as the ordinary staff members after the great earthquake disaster show the mental toughness and struggling vigour of Changhong NewEnergy that have moved and encouraged many people, among whom there are our customers as well as ourselves.
